I am absolutely loving it here! Yesterday we drove through the city and really got to see what Kolkata is like. We drove through slums and saw people bathing in the holy waters of the Ganges. We saw little kids playing happily on the streets as if their condition didn’t even faze them. Today we went to the motherhouse for the missionaries of charity set up by mother Teresa. We start volunteering with disabled adolescent girls tomorrow. We met a girl who was also there to volunteer who was awesome. She worked with youth with a mission and spent a few months in west Africa and is now in Kolkata to get experience that she can write about. Shes twenty years old and living here by herself for six months. CRAZY! it was inspiring though.
